TweakNews reviews the Samsung DVD-HD841 HiDef DVD player here. This DVD player has a built in video scaler that can up convert video into one of several HD formats including 720p and 1080i. I would jump on this DVD player if I could but I actually would prefer to have a general video scaler that takes any video source and up converts it to HiDef. However if you’re looking to maximize the use of your new HD television set, then having a video scaler built into your DVD player is a great option. Here are TweakNews’s comments:

Overall, my experience with this product has been excellent. This aesthetically pleasing product was problem free, easy to install using a standard video connection and is packed full of features that will have your DVD player future-proofed if you decide to upgrade your TV to a high definition display sometime in the upcoming years. But with the advantages of this product, there are some hang ups.
