  The world we know is turning into a virtual one. As a child, my mother got me a pet kitten and I still consider it the best gift I ever got. Later, she told me she got me that kitten so I'd learn how to be more responsible. With virtual pets I don't think you can really learn that, they don't get ill, don't need any pet meds or real care. They are just for fun.
