MobilePipeline managed to get a hold of prototype of the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet which was announced a few weeks back. This device is a dedicated Web and email system in the shape of a large PDA rather than a tablet device. It comes with 64 MB of RAM and 128MB of flash memory. What’s the early verdict?

While I’m not convinced that the initial version will be up to snuff, interested buyers can be consoled by the fact that it’s fully upgradeable. Nokia is already talking about the next operating system, Internet Tablet 2006, which will support voice over IP and instant messaging.

Looks like the device has more work ahead of it and the real question posed – what does it have that a PDA doesn’t offer? Hard to say thus far.
