Seagate has released a slew of new hard drives for different applications and markets. They’ve also released new perpendicular recording technologies which allow them to cram more storage capacity into the same space. Here are some details on the new drives:
EE25 series – specifically designed for cars and having the ability to withstand a wide variety of temperatures
ST1 series – first 8GB 1inch hard drive designed for PDAs and CF applications
LD25 series – 2.5 inch drives designed for video game consoles and SFF PC’s.
DB35 series – 500GB hard drive designed for high end products such as DVRs and Media PCs
Barracuda 7200.9 series – newest flagship of the Barracuda family with 3GB/s SATA interface
