Are you looking for a portable speaker system (other than the Bose SoundDock) for that awesome Apple iPod of yours? Consider the Altec Lansing inMotion iM7. The iM7 has two 1 inch tweeters, two 3 inch mid range drivers, a 4 inch side firing subwoofer and a 4 inch passive radiator. It comes with a built in cradle for the iPod and even supports the mini and the iPod photo. It runs on either batteries (eight D batteries) or an AC adapter and provides some good sound. Expect this to cost around $249.95. MobileMag has some info on the unit but PC Mag is actually out with a review. Here’s PC Mag’s verdict:

This versatile portable speaker system looks and sounds good enough to get just about any party started. The price may seem high, but you’re getting plenty of power for the money.
