HP SnapFish has reduced the cost of printing a 4 x 6 inch print to as low as 10 cents a print. The low 10 cents per print comes from a pre-paid plan as opposed to the everyday low price of 12 cents a print. Prices dropped by up to 45 percent for the other print sizes also.

IBM apparently showed off a prototype of a Cell based blade server to some folks at E3 last week. The prototype was called the Cell Processor Based Blader Server and featured two Cell processors with two chips of 512MB of XDR DRAM. The demo showed the processor running at speeds up to 2.8GHz. Here’s an interesting quote from the article:

“If operated at 3 GHz, Cell’s theoretical performance reaches about 200 GFLOPS, which works out to about 400 GFLOPS per board,”

Remember one thing folks - if you still have a good business idea - there are still people out there willing to invest money for these ideas. The emphasis is of course on GOOD or.. rather excellent business ideas. Here’s an example - TheFaceBook.com has just raised $13 million dollars from Accel Partners based out of Silicon Valley. This small college student networking website has spread like wild flowers over the last year. Will it succeed over the long haul? Hard to say but it’s doing a great job attracting the most important aspect of a business - customers.

For those of you who read some of my reviews on WhiningDog.NET, you’ll have realized that I’m a huge fan of Vaja cases. All of my cases for the Apple iPod are from Vaja. Why you might ask? Well you get what you pay for - a high quality leather case. Well folks, they continue to make excellent cases. This time Vaja has three new models out.

The AP11 case for the Apple iPod shuffle:

The PA41 case for the new palmOne LifeDrive (looks like an iPod case actually)

and the I-Volution Gyon for the iRiver H10 5 and 6GB models

Futurelooks.com reviews the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Deluxe Webcam - a small portable webcam designed specifically for notebooks. I actually owned one of the earlier models and they’re quite good for what they offer in terms of size vs. performance. Here’s the verdict:

After using it extensively for over a week, I found that I grew to liking the features of the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Deluxe Web camera. The overall function that I wanted was to have a smooth flow of video images going to the recipient of the video conference. The webcam did a good job with it and those viewing me were happy. That is the reason why we buy a webcam: For the recipient to be happy with what they see.

Yep.. a good buy.

CoolTechZone compares two Logitech Cordless Desktop packages - the LX500 and the LX700. Both products are nearly identical in feature sets.. so what’s the final verdict?

The mice are the main difference. The LX700 features a rechargeable mouse, the LX500 doesn’t. The LX700’s mouse is slightly more ergonomic than the LX500’s. The LX700 features forward and back buttons on the side, the LX500 doesn’t.
