It looks like the new JVC GZ-MC500 4GB HDD Camcorder is now out and available on sites like Amazon.com. What’s this camcorder? It’s a high quality MPEG2 camcorder which stores the video directly onto 4GB Microdrives. How COOL is that? No need for DVD recorders or MiniDV tapes here folks.

Wow - PMP’s are reproducing like mad rabbits aren’t they? Here’s another one reviewed by the folks at I4U.com called the Datexx Pavio PVR30T. It’s a 30GB unit which supports many of the same features as other PMP devices - oh and it supports PVR functionality. Yet it seems that I4U has a positive review on this unknown player. Here’s a blurbage of the ending:

II’ve looked at several other PVR, PDR, PVT, PDT or PMP units (and other multi-media acronyms) and while they each have strengths/weaknesses; none have come close to the Pavio. Archos, you say? Good PMP, but very complicated and expensive for the average consumer who desire simplicity and Pavio delivers what the people out there want. Datexx Pavio may not be a household name (yet), but with the quality, abilities, functions and choices you have with this PVR; they will soon!

Here’s an interesting USB device - it’s a product from Evergreen which allows you to connect your PC’s audio output to your stereo systems digital input via the USB bus. Of course your receiver would need to know how to decode the incoming signal.

CamcorderInfo reviews the stylish Sony DCR-PC55 digital camcorder. The DCR-PC55 comes in a variety of colors and has a 10x optical zoom with a 120x digital zoom. The LCD touch screen is nice and large at 3inches. This camcorder supports the MiniDV format and comes with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens - so what’s the verdict?

Now, I won’t lie. There is a certain gimmicky appeal to the DCR-PC55’s Slide Show function, but I, however tempted, wouldn’t let that blind me from the fact that there really isn’t anything good about the video quality of this machine.

Ouch!

Here’s an interesting news byte - the world’s smallest digital camera has been shown using a new micro-miniature lens system that is integrated directly with a color CMOS sensor. The integrated unit was smaller than the head of a wooden matchstick. The only problem with the article that is sighted here is - it’s not clear at all who made this invention. Well if it’s real - this is cool stuff indeed!

eHomeUpgrade has a quick look at the Bose SoundDock and finds it a great buy for all you iPod users out there. What’s the SoundDock? It’s a portable speaker system designed specifically for the Apple iPod. I personally am not a fan of Bose speakers normally but the SoundDock does perform quite well.
