VIA announces the C7 “Esther” processor
The Esther processor is finally out from Via Technologies. This small low power CPU is designed for thin and light notebooks as well as small form factor PC’s. The processor measures 30 sq. mm and currently runs at a peak speed of 2GHz while only consuming 20 watts. The C7 is NOT pin compatible with the Pentium M processor unfortunately so manufacturers will have to use a different motherboard design should they be interested in using the C7.
