CDFreaks take a look at the new DVD-R DL format using discs from Verbatim. The new specification enables burners to write a complete 8.5 GB DVD-R DL disc in about 25 minutes. As usual, the freaks do a thorough job in testing the format. What’s the final verdict?
The DVD-R DL format uses DVD-R as book-type and during our tests we could see that there are some read-back compatibility issues with some PC DVD-Writers. There are also some issues with the very poor compatibility with DVD Standalone devices.
