Slimmer Windows XP for older PC’s
For many corporations – upgrading older PC’s is just not an option. Well Microsoft finally has a solution to the upgrade problem. Upgrade to a slimmer version of Windows XP which will run just fine on older systems. The new version of XP, code named “Eiger”, will be based on Windows XP Service Pack 2. It’s not quite the same as XP as many mainstream applications will be run from a centralized server. However, it will allow companies to save money on more important things than upgrading hardware. Unfortunately no price has been set as of this moment. A preview version should be available sometime this year.
