Dell puts $99.5 million into Red Hat
Michael Dell, through his private investment firm MSD, bought the largest share of $600 million in debentures offered by Red Hat back in January 2004 amounting to $99.5 million. This investment by Dell puts Dell’s interest squarely against the interests of Microsoft – Red Hat’s largest competitor.
