There’s a new Shuttle XPC in the midst and it’s called the XPC SB83G5M. Ok so the name leaves a lot to be desired but the intended market is interesting indeed. This is the first XPC system designed specifically for the Windows Media Center OS. What’s so different about this new box? Well Shuttle says the barebones system has been optimized for a MCE system – meaning the chassis looks like an HTPC oriented box and the system noise has been reduced thanks to Shuttle’s Silent X cooling system. There’s a VFD unit on the front of the box which is compatible with MCE also. I’ll wait and see what the reviews say but who knows.. this might be the kind of upgrade I was looking for.
