MobileBurn reviews the LG VX8000 – the mobile phone that launched with Verizon’s VCAST network late last year. The phone itself is somewhat large – weighing in at 4.65 ounces and measuring 3.8″ x 2.0″ x 0.9″. So what’s the verdict from MobileBurn?

LG’s VX8000 is a good phone, it just isn’t a great phone, which is what I would have expected from Verizon’s flagship EV-DO handset. The streaming video VCAST service is interesting, but doesn’t seem compelling enough to warrant the extra $15/month subscription fee. Apart from the video clips, the only real use of the VX8000′s high speed EV-DO data capabilities is downloading bought applications and hi-fi ringtones from Verizon’s portal.
