There’s a new sound card in the midst… and it’s called the Creative Audigy 4 Pro. Is this the ultimate consumer sound card available on the market now? Apparently, Toms Hardware thinks so. The Pro package comes with a PCI based Sound Card using the Audigy 4 chipset. It also has an external hub that connects to the card to provide more connections to various devices. The new system can decode Dolby Digital EX, DTS ES, DS3D, A3D, and EAX 4.0. What’s the verdict?
The Audigy 4, probably the last in the Audigy series, is undeniably the most advanced and most universal consumer sound card. It’s obviously aimed at sound buffs who don’t want to be hampered in the areas of games and multimedia . But it’s certainly in a narrow market niche, as the rather steep price confirms.
