The Sanyo Xacti C5 Mini is reviewed by the folks over at Akihabara News here. This is a combination digital camera/digital video camera similar to other products produced by Panasonic and Samsung – also an upgrade to the older C4 model. The gadget has a 5MP CCD for still captures, and is also capable of recording VGA resolution videos at 30fps. You can use SD cards to store the files created by this hybrid device but manufacturers really have to start creating SD capacities greater than 1GB. What’s the verdict?
An evolution and not a revolution. From an “artistic” point of view, the C5 offers nothing new compared to the C4. The small revolution is on the technical level, which allows the C5 to offer the same performance level as the C4 with 40% less electronics and a considerably thinner body.
