When you think of a gamer PCs, eMachines just doesn’t come to mind does it? The names Alienware, VoodooPC or even Dell come to mind when you think of these high end graphics powerhouse systems. And eMachines? Well you think CHEAP.
The company aims to change all that with the new eMachines T6212. How does it plan on doing this? By creating a system that has an AMD Athlon64 3200+ processor, 512MB of RAM, an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 graphics core, and a 160GB HDD. All these features and MORE for $600. In the end, the eMachines T6212 is the best deal we have seen for under $600 dollars. Period..

Sony rounds out their Micro Vault line
Sony has added some new features to their Micro Vault USB storage media product line. The first enhancement is called “Virtual Expander” which essentially compresses data which allows a user to fit more data onto a USB key than ever before. You can gain as much as three times as much space as a normal uncompressed Micro Vault. Nothing too special here - if your data is already compressed than the Virtual Expander will probably not offer any help.
A new offering in their product line is the Micro Vault Turbo. The Turbo moniker comes from the fact that the key allows a maximum throughput of 28MB/sec. Finally, the last new design is the Fingerprint Access Micro Vault which adds biometric security to your USB key.

BENQ 1625 16X DVD LightScribe Burner
Ahh.. a review on the new BENQ 1625 16X DVD LightScribe Burner. What’s the LightScribe Burner? It’s a dual layer DVD burner that will also etch labels directly onto specially designed discs. Yes - we’ve seen similar technology from other vendors - notably Plextor but BenQ is all about affordable tech. So what’s the verdict?
BenQ’s 1625 DVD burner with LightScribe technology is a good burner, I would not say the best though.

Sorell SF 3000 MP3 Video Player
The TechZone reviews the small Sorell SF 3000 MP3 Video Player here. Unfamiliar with the SF 3000? It’s a 1GB device capable of playing back MP3 music files and MPEG4 video files. Oh yeah - you can also view digital images on the player too. Don’t expect a big screen because the entire device measures 1.18″ x 2.55″ x 0.59″. The unit is smaller than a clamshell phone! What’s the verdict?
Looking at the SF 3000 as just a MP3 player, the price seems high. However, the SF 3000 is more than just a MP3 player - it’s a fully loaded video player that also plays and records MP3 music. Still I would like to see Medialine drop the price by $50. Then it’ll be a no brainer to get the SF 3000 over the 1GB iPod Shuffle.
