IBM to release ThinkPad Tablet PC unit?
Documents that have been made available by the FCC appear to show IBM designing a ThinkPad Tablet PC. The unit looks like a ThinkPad X41 notebook except that the screen rotates 180 degrees and can be pressed flat against the keyboard. Gee that sounds a lot like a convertible notebook design. I’ve owned a convertible system from Toshiba before and I think they strike a fine balance between the needs of laptop users and the needs of tablet users. My only complaint at the time was that the model came from Toshiba. Now.. a Tablet PC from IBM would be sweet – even if the PC division was purchased by Lenovo Group. Stay tuned!
