As we mentioned over the weekend, Microsoft has begun shipping copies of Windows XP Professional x64 today. If you’re an owner of an AMD Opteron/Athlon64 or an Intel processor with EM64T support, then this OS could be for you.. unless of course you have unique hardware with no 64 bit driver support. Forget about using 32 bit drivers on the new OS – it just won’t fly. However, many 32 bit apps will indeed work on the new OS.
