There’s been a slew of Hi-MD news recently with a large number of product announcements declaring support for this new format. Sony has a new system called the CMT-AH10 which will allow you to play back Hi-MD discs. The system will also support CD, MDLP, and ATRAC3/MP3 formats. There’s even a USB port on this system for connectivity to other PCs.
