WSJ Online makes more than print now..
Now this is an interesting bit of news (though not surprising) – the Online version of the Wall Street Journal is now making more money than the printed editions of the WSJ and Barrons! Why is this not surprising? Dow Jones charges much less for the online edition of the WSJ than the printed edition. With more and more people on the internet, it makes much more sense that people would be reading their articles online for much less. Does this mean that people are willing to pay for online content? Not necessarily – the WSJ (in our opinion) offers very unique and valuable information that isn’t necessarily available all over. In fact, the WSJ is the staple of so many execs out in the world that it’s hard to imagine not referencing it at all. You can’t make the same case for other news related sites. In any case.. this is an interesting tidbit for today..
