Now this is an interesting device – the SkipJam iMedia. It’s essentially a media multiplexor (they called it a Network Attached Media solution) that allows you to store or stream content from a variety of sources to a PC or other SkipJam enabled device over Ethernet or WiFi. You connect a wide variety of analog sources to this device – ranging from DVD players, to cable boxes, to CD players etc, and it will distribute this content over a network to other PCs. The device can act as a PVR, or a media streaming device, or a way to control other devices. I must admit.. this is pretty cool! The SkipJam iMedia Center starts out at $799 with other peripherals coming in for cheaper.
