It really doesn’t matter a whole lot really but Intel has announced that they have begun shipping dual core processors today. This trumps the announcement by AMD that they will be unveiling the new dual core Opterons on April 21st. Of course – all of these announcements are more for bragging rights than for anything else. It’ll be interesting to see what the inventory is actually like for these new dual core processors. The first of the Intel dual core systems is called the Intel Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840 and will clock in at 3.2 GHz. Are you curious about the processor performances?
