If you’re like me, then you’re not a hard core portable gamer. In which case, it’s not quite clear which portable gaming device one should buy - the new Sony PSP (which costs more) or the older Nintendo DS (not really that old). The folks at G4 provide an analysis on both game consoles and give their recommendations. The final verdict? Though the PSP is more expensive, it’s the one to beat and the one to get.

If your girlfriend is a baseball fan, then check out this new bra set being made in Japan by Triumph International. Ok so this isn’t really tech related but since the MLB season is right around the corner, I just couldn’t help myself. Thanks to Akihabara News for this tidbit.

HP has announced a new Media Center PC design and you can see it here on MacMiniGear.com It’s a bit boring in design for a Media Center PC since it’s a pretty boring tower design.. it’s white like a Mac and it even has a dock interface for the Apple iPod on top. Otherwise, the new model (which will be available in the Pavilion d4000 series, Pavilion a1000 series, and m7000 series) is somewhat bland to us.

To all you Microsoft Media Center Edition 2005 owners out there - check out MSN TV. You can now schedule recordings from the website using your MSN passport again. You’ll need to do a small amount of setup on your MCE system but once that’s done (and it’s painless), you can schedule TV shows from anyplace you have an internet connection. MSN TV will connect to your MCE system and attempt to schedule the TV recording. If there’s a conflict, it will present to you the episode in question and let you change settings if need be.

YAMP3P - Yet Another MP3 Player. Teac gets into the groove with it’s MP-300 - an aluminum covered MP3 player with up to 1GB in storage capacities. It’s got an OLED display (wooo..) but otherwise is fairly unremarkable. It does have an FM Radio and also a Lyrics display. Check out the product page.

DesignTechnica has a first look at the ABS Ultimate E2 Media Center PC. This MCE has a Pentium 4 processor at the heart of it’s unit and has a case designed to fit into a home theater environment. Of course this is just a rebranded version of the Intel Entertainment PC mentioned here on Engadget.com. You can find the DesignTechnica look here.

Volvo has a new concept car that is great for the environment. It’s called the Volvo 3CC and it runs on 3,000 lithium-ion batteries (similar to the batteries found in laptop computers). There are other cool design ideas with this car. The chassis is capable of housing all sorts of engine types - from gas to diesel to fuel cell engines and beyond. This means that the 3CC can be designed to use a typical gas engine if necessary without any body changes. Check out the car here at Popular Science.

So your camera captures at 30fps? Bah! That’s nothing folks! Check out the new Shimadzu HyperVision HPV-1 camera. This camera records at up to speeds of one million frames per second. That’s right - 1,000,000 frames per second. How utterly crazy is that? The camera records in monochrome for now but wow. Should be great for people desiring high speed motion capture. The page is in Japanese so you’ll need someone or something to translate it for you if you can’t read it.

Are people ever going to learn? Why is important information stored on items like laptops that can be easily stolen? Case in point - a thief took a campus laptop from the Graduate Division offices of the University of Cal. - Berkeley which contained information on well over 98,000 individuals that attended Berkeley from 1976 to 2004. Some of this information contains valuable data such as addresses and social security numbers. Utter ridiculousness.
