PC World is reporting that Hitachi has come out with a new hard drive sporting a 500GB capacity. The new Deskstar 7K500 comes with a SATA II interface and will be perfect to those needing large capacities for movies and music. The drive will also come in an older parallel ATA interface with an 8MB buffer for around $500.00. The Serial ATA II interface will cost $520 with a larger 16MB buffer.
