Google Blog is reporting that Google is now even faster on Mozilla based browsers including the popular FireFox browser. Google uses prefetching on Mozilla browsers which speeds up web performance by instructing the browser to go ahead and download the top search result ahead of time. This will only really work if you click on the top search result. This feature is not available on IE browsers - yet another reason to go FireFox!

Do you own a Sony PSP? If you do, then check out ExtremeTech’s handy PSP Media Guide here. It’s an excellent guide to adding media content onto your new PSP - including instructions on how to add music, photos and videos onto your game machine. The PSP has been out only a week and it’s already got a huge internet following. I may end up getting one of these devices after all.

The ABS Ultimate E2 Media Center PC is making its rounds around the net - this time with the folks over at CoolTechZone. About the only thing I don’t like about this system is the chassis design. It actually looks like an old fashioned VCR deck if you ask me. I love the designs of the HP media center systems (the Z series). You can read the first look of this product here.

DesignTechnica reviews the Syntax Olevia LT30HV - a 30 inch widescreen LCD television available here in North America. They rated the TV a 7 out of 10 which isn’t too shabby. You can have this 30 inch TV for around 1200 bucks (although you might be able to find this for less with rebates etc). This is actually a great price for a 30 inch LCD TV that comes in with 1280 x 720 resolutions - perfect for that MCE system of yours. Hey Dell - can you match this price? Somehow, I can’t help but equate Syntax with APEX.. You can find the full review here.

News.com is reporting that Time Warner Cable is testing mobile phone services in Kansas City. It’s a good indication that cable providers will soon be entering the wireless market that is now dominated by the likes of Baby Bells (Cingular and Verizon). With phone companies directly competing against cable operators in the ISP market, it makes sense for cable companies to get into phone service too. Besides wireless service, expect VoIP services down the road from the major cable operators. The mobile phone trials being conducted by Time Warner Cable are using the Sprint PCS service and phones.

Want to sync your iTunes playlists onto your new Sony PSP? Well a small California software company has created a software application called PocketMac for PSP which will do exactly that. These playlists get sync’d onto the PSP’s memory cards. The application will also sync the PSP with Apple’s iPhoto and address book/contacts databases. One thing to note - no AAC support for the PSP via this application. How much does it cost? $9.95.

It’s been almost 10 years since I finished college so it’s a bit hard to imagine what college life is like nowadays. However, given the rate of change that has occurred in technology over the last decade, it’s not suprising to see technology all around the average american college campus. USAToday has a nice writeup about how technology has changed the average campus and how students are taking advantage of these changes. Cell phones, iPods, wireless networks were not a fact of life for me back in the early 90’s.. but nowdays, these are normal daily gadgets. *sigh* Almost makes me want to go back to school… ok not really.
